One of the reasons why I never had gotten pregnant before was my fear of giving birth. I was absolutely terrified by many stories of people close to me who had gone through horrible pain for days and never seemed to be the same after their traumatic experiences. So, when I finally got pregnant I knew I had to do something to overcome my fear as it was evident that I would have to face giving birth somehow. I just didn’t know what to do until I met Inbal around my 15th week of pregnancy who told me about the concept of Hypnobirthing. Just one week later I had already finished reading the book and it was clear to me that I had to take the class.
I delivered my beautiful girl Catalina 7 months ago. It was my third birth , and a great experience.
I had a water birth, no medical support and it was amazing.
Inbal helped me with the hypnobirthing lessons and a few of the yoga as well. I feel totally prepare to do it again by myself. My midwife was not good at all, she was in a hurry I guess, and pushed me all the time to break my membranes, which stressed me when I was supposed to be relax and calm. But besides that, I’m very proud of my birth experience and I want to thank to Inbal for everything, she is such a nice woman.
I signed up for Inbal’s hypnobirthing workshop after talking to her about her birthing experience and meeting her baby son Adam. They were both so serene, happy and peaceful, that I had no doubt I wanted a similar experience for my baby and myself! The workshop was a really beautiful introduction to the combination of physical and mental tools that are the core of preparations for hypnobirthing. It was fantastic, and exactly what I expected it to be!
I was looking for a method to deliver our baby in the calmest and most natural way, without any fears and with full trust in the abilities of my body. Hypnobirthing has provided me with such a method –Inbal’s gentle and sensitive approach to the subject of giving birth has supported my confidence to have a fearless and calm birthing experience. Inbal gave us a thorough overview of all the possible techniques involved without making it sound too technical which helped us to select the exercises that suited us best.
I have learned a lot, not only about how to approach the “big day” in a calm and relaxing way, but also many things about the birthing process itself that I did not know. It is amazing how much “wrong” baggage we carry on when we think about what should be a “safe” and “fast” delivery, and how things ¨should go¨.The body, and nature in general, are very wise, and we should learn to listen to them and to understand what is going on exactly in our body, to be able to work in harmony with it instead of against it, driven by our own fears.
All what I have learned about the Hypnobirthing technique appears to me as very logical, and matches perfectly my own idea about life in general.
During the sessions we have gone through many aspects of the birthing process itself and how to implement diverse techniques to be relaxed and to stay positive during the whole process in order to provide to our baby with a comfortable and safe birth, and to make that moment something special for both mother and baby, and also partner. One of the best things of the course is also how your partner can have a very active role, not only during labor, but also helping you prepare for the moment, and how much can you bound in advance. The course provides you with all the necessary tools you would need to prepare yourself with your partner at home well in advance.
In this sense, our teacher Inbal, has been a great instructor and a huge inspiration, and seeing her with her amazing calm, social and cute baby has been a pleasure. She is very empathetic and listened to all our fears and concerns and helped us to go through them. We felt very supported and we are really looking forward to the day we will have have baby in our arms.
Thank you so much for all your support and preparation to help me birth our beautiful boy in such a good state of mind. I know that all I have learnt helped me experience my birth in the best way possible. It has been a pleasure to share this amazing adventure with you.
During a two year wait to conceive, I spent a lot of time reflecting on myself, the person that I am and would like to be. While I was waiting I was lucky enough to have many experiences which helped me to strengthen myself emotionally, physically and spiritually, and made me question many deep-rooted assumptions I had (sometimes) unknowingly adopted. When I became pregnant and looked towards my birth, it seemed only right to continue questioning and that maybe birthing could be different to what I had grown up with culturally.
It seemed a natural step to explore hypnobirthing and I was lucky to find Inbal’s name on a website of practitioners in the Netherlands. Alongside Inbal I emailed a few other people to ask for their advice but was immediately drawn to Inbal’s warmth and welcoming nature. She invited me to join her pregnancy yoga class and I immediately knew she would become a special guide in our journey to parenthood.
During the hypnobirthing course my husband and I did with Inbal, a few things really resonated with me that I took forward into the birth. The first is that true preparation for the kind of birth you would like to have can have an overwhelmingly positive effect. This combined with a relaxed yet confident attitude to all the unknowns is hugely empowering. And, that you really can hear what your body and baby are telling you when you’re preparing yourself to listen.
We were 11 days overdue when our daughter Poppy was born. We had always tried to remain open to where she was going to be born in case there was little/no choice but we had prepared everything for a home delivery. As soon as my surges started we began to use lots of the relaxation techniques and my husband was a consistent source of guidance as the birth progressed. All our preparation enabled him to play a very active role in the birth as it unfolded.
In addition to preparation, a good deal of luck and also support from our midwife meant we could do all the things we had spent months visualising and hoping for. I was left to listen to what my body was telling me to do in terms of positioning and never encouraged or told to “push”. My husband delivered our baby (with a little help from our midwife) and placed her in my arms. She was born “en caul” (in her waters) and our desire for limited intervention allowed for this very rare occurrence to happen. Our cord was not cut until it stopped pulsating and, in our case, our Hypnobirthed baby was very calm when she came out and showed absolutely no signs of distress.
As I look back on our birth and the guidance we were given by Inbal, I know hypnobirthing allowed us to have the birth that we really wanted. And, in the very intense moments of birth when you reach the core of who you are, I can be proud to know I am the strong person my whole experience has allowed me to become.
