Lillia & Alex Testimonial about Isis Hypnobirthing
My birth was quite fast and smooth. At around 11 pm when we went to bed I started feeling tension in my low belly.
I kind of understood that that was surges, but I thought maybe those are just “preparation” surges.
I was just deeply breathing through them and trying to fall asleep.
But I could not sleep any more.
At some point Alex noticed me not sleeping and periodically breathing very deeply and started tracking time.
Then he said that the surges were about 40 sec every 2 min. He decided to send an sms to our midwife just to let her know that something started here.
I guess it was about 2 am already.
She talked to me and said that that might be only the early beginning because I was able to talk to her without any problem 🙂 We agreed to keep her updated.
In about an hour I lost mucus plug and we called the midwife again.
I understood it was for real, that was It 🙂 We asked her to come.
I knew that it can last long but I also knew that if she is at our place already I will feel much more confident and stress free.
She came around 4am.
I had my surges, they were manageable, I was just breathing them through, walking around or leaning on something and moving my hips.
Meanwhile Alex rearranged our living room: there was birthing pool, candles, flowers (it was Friday and on Monday that week I turned 30 :), relaxing music.
As the nature needed to do its work and we needed just to wait, I asked Alex to have some sleep, as we didn’t know how long the birthing will take and I needed him strong and full of energy 🙂 He agreed.
And I was in our bedroom near him, leaning on the windowsill, making movements with my hips, sometimes looking outside (it was raining heavily the whole night and day) sometimes having my eyes closed, listening to the birth affirmations or just enjoying the silence and breathing breathing breathing deeply.
I was not tracking the time, but it was already getting less and less dark outside when Alex woke up.
He brought me coconut water and grapes to have a bite.
The tension in my belly was getting stronger and I remembered that we had TENS, so I suggested Alex to try it. We didn’t know how it worked so the midwife helped to put it on my back.
I can’t say it helped me))) Deep breathing did! 🙂 I asked the midwife to check the progress, I felt I needed to know if there was any progress, at least 1 cm. the midwife thought it was 3-4. And it was 8(!) already 🙂 We all were very surprised and I was glad that I was ‘dancing’ the whole night not for nothing)) Alex started filling in the pool.
It was around 8:20 am. It took some time to fill in the pool and meanwhile I kept breathing through every surge. I was very relaxed and in a kind of meditative state. Then the water broke, it was clear, such a relief for me, I knew that we won’t go to the hospital.
The pool was almost ready and I asked to get into the pool because the surges were very intense and I guess I already felt the urge to push.
In water I was already pushing, Alex was sitting next to me, holding my hands, I was squeezing them very strongly with every surge.
Our midwife recommended me to open my mouth and give some sound. I was loud, I can say))) But it was not long, I think Matthew was born after about half an hour of pushing.
Intense but fast. When he was put on me, I was crying from happiness- he was so cute!
Looking around with his big eyes. Alex was hugging us both and crying as well… full of happiness and love .
We had about an hour for bonding, first breastfeeding, even more falling in love with each other, then my placenta was born.
Fortunately I had minimum blood loss and no stitches were needed. Happy and proud of myself !!
I’m so thankful for your support, encouragement and believing in us!
So glad I came across your website and met you! You helped me and Alex to find our strength as parents-to-be, to believe in ourselves, to imagine and create the birth we wanted.
Approaching the birth we had no fears but a full confidence in ourselves and the power of the nature.
